RESTORING KENT’S WILD HEDGEROW CORRIDORS
During our latest corporate volunteering day, the Clutter-B-Gone staff teamed up with the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE Kent) to participate in the traditional craft of hedge-laying and planting.
Healthy wild hedgerows play a critical role in preserving England’s biodiversity. By laying Hazel and Hawthorn hedges, we help establish dense, protected corridors where dormice, bats, birds, and vital insect species can safely feed, nest, and travel across farmland blocks.
Beyond providing safe shelter, mature hedgerows capture immense carbon volumes and reinforce the soil structure, preventing erosion of essential rural clay. Our managing director, Alex Tyler, led the charge with loppers, saws, and heavy timber stakes to plant fresh, native saplings.
